Striding Sunset

Eric Todd
Slot 7 - Sun 11am-5pm - 6 hours
FULL

World War Z. The Walking Dead. In the days and years before, we lapped up these stories of the apocalypse, of the end of society, of zombies. It was as if on some level the world knew what was coming. Like we were trying to prepare ourselves for the horror that lay before us. So when it finally happened, it was a dream we'd summoned into reality. A nightmare made flesh. And yet, there was so much we failed to imagine. So much pain and beauty only a survivor could know.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
This is an experimental, diceless story-game. All game concepts and rules will be explained at the beginning of the session and characters will be created on the spot.

St. Mungo's in June

Kris Kunkel, Tara Kunkel
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
FULL

Summer. A time when Rowling just glosses over months and the Decree Against Underaged Magic inspires creativity among young witches and wizards. You and a group of students are starting a volunteer rotation at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Some of you are genuine volunteers, others exploring careers, a few serving a rare summer detention for Madam Pomfrey, and one or two working toward extra credit. How bad can a few weeks be in London over the summer of 1983? You'll be surrounded by healers even if it goes wrong, right?

What do players need to do to prepare for the game

LoGS - The Slug and the Stone Monkey

Judd M. Goswick
Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 4 TO 6 PLAYERS

Kung Fu Hijinks from the Rowdiest Bar on the Stair!

The patrons of the Slug are asked to help rescue a Pilgrim who is trying to bring important religious scrolls back home from a distant land. His escorts were all Immortals on the outs back home and now they have lost the Monk somewhere on the Stair. Seeking a place to drown their sorrows, they happen upon the one drinking hole that might hold an answer.

(The tales of The Slug pay loving homage to Spider Robinson's Callahan's Place series as well as a few other pop-cultural artifacts here and there.)

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Pre-gens to be provided.

Guardians of Chaos and Amber

Craig Johnson
Slot 1 - Thu 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 2 TO 7 PLAYERS

Life has sucked... It was a crappy year...
First you were abducted from your home and had to escape. Then you ended up arrested by these jackboot goons who framed you and sent you to a nasty prison in the centre of the dimensions where you slaved for benefit of the Tree.
Now - they need you. They all need you!
Seems that one of your parents was a Lord of Creation, a Prince of Amber or Chaos and you have suppressed powers. You are a good guy, sort of, well, misunderstood.
Seems that Mandor and Fiona, your two Wardens have come around offering you a Pardon from their bosses to stop some very bad dude and his army of thugs from taking everything over. They are worse than Mandor and Fiona!
Now power has shifted - and you are ready to become with your fellow prisoners - the Guardians of Chaos and Amber.
The Universes will just not be the same again!

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters have a wide range of options and backgrounds. Some character ideas could get darker and there could be some humour. This is parallel to but different than the Suicide Squad that ran at ACNW. Please contact the GM Craig - calj at mts.net

Firefly Quest

Amanda Robinson
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 3 TO 8 PLAYERS

You are actors on a space western about revolutionaries who lost the war.

But these aliens who showed up just aren't understanding the "actor" part. They want you to help them fight in their own civil war, and they won't take "no, thanks anyway" as an answer-- or at least, it doesn't appear that way, since they just abducted you and you're on your way to their homeworld.

While the setting is intended to be Firefly-esque, you do not have to play the same actors playing the same characters-- your pilot can be someone other than Alan Tudyk, playing someone other than Wash.

Players are not expected to be scholars of either Firefly or Galaxy Quest, but it would be helpful if they were aware of the general plotlines and tones of both.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
It would be useful if the players got together and worked out a reasonable crew-- four doctors and no pilot would be a bit rough. Four pilots and no doctor would also cause unnecessary problems. We'll be using Dave Vandenabeele's Paragraph System, in which you send me a paragraph about your character, and I reserve the right to ask questions.

Familiars of Hogwarts: The Legend of Curly's Raisins

Amanda Robinson
Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR 3 TO 12 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

For generations (okay, maybe just weeks, but that's LIKE generations, right?) you have heard stories about Curly and his lost stash of raisins and nuts.

This morning, you found a map. It looks like it's in Curly's pawwriting, and it has a big red X on it.

-------------

Players are the familiars of witches and wizards at Hogwarts School of Magic.

It's not necessary to be familiar with the Harry Potter series, though it will help if you're vaguely aware that some books were written about a boy at a magic school. It's not necessary to be familiar with The Legend of Curly's Gold at all, and it may be better not to be because mostly it's used as things to provide puns and bad jokes. New players are welcome.

The GM likes her sleep, and will move heaven and earth to end on time or early.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Character creation is simple: pick a species. Pick something you're good at. Pick something you're bad at. Congratulations, you're done. (You will find the game much easier and more fun if your chosen species has some form of locomotion, and the GM will find a way to severely handicap any wildly over-powered characters.) Contact alrobins@gmail.com with characters. Or don't, and just have an idea of what you want to play when you show up.

Muppet Paranoia

339
Amanda Robinson
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 3 TO 8 PLAYERS

Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and if you don't accept it, you are clearly a commie mutant traitor and will be executed): Put on a show.

If your show is acceptable to The Computer, you will be the stars of Alpha Complex. Since the only conceivable reason it would not be acceptable to the computer is that you are commie mutant traitors who sabotaged the show, if the show is not acceptable to The Computer, you will be executed.

Players should be passingly familiar with The Muppets. Using funny voices for your Muppet is not required, though if you want to do it I'm certainly not going to stop you. Players will find it easier if they've at least read the Wikipedia page on the Paranoia roleplaying game, but you can probably muddle along with just "Security clearances are color coded, and you're going to get shot a lot but you've got spare clones so don't worry about it too much. Also, The Computer is your Friend."

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Pick a Muppet. Traditionally, Paranoia characters have a mutation and a secret society. You may pick them at character creation, or risk having them foisted on you by the GM when she feels like it. Suggestions for Muppets include: Kermit-G-FRG, Pigg-Y-MSS, Scoo-O-TER, Gonz-O-GRT, Fozz-Y-BER, Rowlf-G-DOG, Docto-R-TTH, or whatever else you come up with.

Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR 4 TO 12 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

Players are the familiars of witches and wizards at Hogwarts School of Magic. Typically, they get bored and wander off to find a fun way to pass the time. This time, there's a handy ship over there. Hey, anyone want to play Pirates? Or maybe Pirates vs. Ninjas?

It's not necessary to be familiar with the Harry Potter series, though it will help if you're vaguely aware that some books were written about a boy at a magic school. It's not necessary to be familiar with the Pirates of the Caribbean series at all, and it may be better not to be because mostly they're used as things to provide puns and bad jokes. New players are welcome.

Matt Andrews
Slot 3 - Fri 2pm-6:30pm - 4 1/2 hours
