The Warren: Aftermath

John's room
John Nienart
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
SPACE FOR 2 TO 4 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

After generations of peace and relative quiet, last summer your Warren suffered a terrible crisis, in the form of Cottontail's arrival. But despite some sad losses, the Warren survives: You managed to drive off or trap the rabbits from the other warren; Wintergreen's leadership was amply demonstrated; and you've all learned a remarkable new skill. Now, as long as you don't run into that fox again, and She doesn't notice you at the wrong time, you can return to the peaceful lives you're used to.

This game is a sequel to the one run at ACUS 2016. Returning players can keep their same characters, or create new ones as they prefer; in the latter case their previous rabbits will have died—why?

The Warren is a game by Marshall Miller that's about intelligent rabbits trying to make the best of it in a word filled with predators, hazards, and, worst of all, other rabbits. It is a game about survival and community. It is Apocalypse World crossed with Bunnies and Burrows.

Some role reversal, and a bit of an experiment. If you sign up for this game, you are not signing up to be a player; you’re signing up to be the GM. The players will be the five of us listed as co-GMs in the slot description. We’re a group of friends who love gaming together but rarely get the chance to do it. Come GM for us! We’re open to any style of game you want to run. Classic Amber? Yes. Superheroes? We’re in. High fantasy? Police procedural? Historical melodrama? Awesome, bring it on. Give us pregen characters, or ask us to write a novelette before the Con. We’ll even (gasp!) bring our dice if you tell us to. We're a great gateway group for someone with first-time GM jitters, or a veteran GM wanting to try something outside their typical zone.

Bring whatever character you want. We'll figure out what's going on during the game. Maybe.

Setting?  You tell me. Could be Amber. Could be earth. Could be outer space. We'll figure it out.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Create characters before game. Don't worry about the system, or going into too much detail. Don't tell the GM until the game starts. If you'd like to discuss your character and the setting you'd like to see with the other players before the game, that's great. Please do not tell any of it to the GM until game time.
