Agents of Blackmoor: Operation Grey Wolf Down

Christopher Midyette, Kat Lemmer
Slot 1 - Thu 7pm-12am - 5 hours
FULL

It's been weeks since King Drake's failed attempt to create a major power in Blackmoor, and the
changes wrought by the Draconoth Effect continue to alter the shape of the Verse. Rumor has it that
those changes have spread beyond the Alpha and Omega Termini to the ancient lands of Amber and
Thelbane, eliciting no small amount of ire. Closer to home, the very land of Terra has shifted in accord
with Blackmoor's primacy, creating an Iron Ring of worlds with Blackmoor's capitol, Drakestadt, at its center.

This upheaval has forced Drake to mobilize forces to deal with uprisings and disasters as borders reconfigure within the Iron Ring. As Draconoth has spread its influence, so too has the Beck advanced beyond its previous boundaries within the Hive to the Web Worlds and beyond.

The Beck. Some call it a fluid inter-veil region, a dream of the Fae's homeland projected into the
Tween, or the manifested will of Lugh, their King. Whatever the truth of the Beck may be, it offers a
means of travel between worlds for the forces of Blackmoor, by ancient compact with the Fae, and for
Lugh's own people. Military forces of the Hive, led by members of the Order of the Wolf, have
deployed into the Web, taking up strategic positions to meet any reprisal for Blackmoor's actions by
the Great Powers.

Travel within the Web has been dangerous, sometimes deadly.

Two days ago, a company of mixed forces of Blackmoor and the Regot, their mission unknown, went
missing within the Web Worlds on Earth designate 146 and all communication ceased. Passage via
the Beck to and from 146 has been blocked, stranding the company on the other side, and preventing
investigation by Hive elements.

Red Dome agents are called in to investigate. Their mission: Make worldfall on 146 via telluric
protocols. Contact any surviving troops. Discover the source of the block, gain intel on its nature, and
deal with its source. Exfiltrate the company to a secure fallback point.

Is this the first salvo in a coming war? Or merely the twisting forces of a Verse in turmoil? Only the
Agents of Blackmoor can find the truth.

But, the the galaxy is full of terrors too. Insane military commanders and system shattering wars. Ancient empires rising from the shadows. Star eaters and planet killers. Bounty hunters and debt collectors.

Amidst all the wonder and terror, a guy still has to get by. It takes a good gun, a good ship, a good crew, and good luck. Especially if those wonders and terrors have a mind to stomp you under their boot.

Murder on the Cocoanut Express

Amanda Robinson
Slot 1 - Thu 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 3 TO 8 PLAYERS

Hotel de Cocoanut is a quaint little hotel in Florida, if by "quaint" one means "makes up for its terrible service with lax bookkeeping and limited oversight." Also, it's filled with thieves, con men, and one giant mark... uh, I mean, wealthy patron.

If that sounds familiar, it's the premise of _The Cocoanuts_. Don't worry, we'll deviate from the Marx Brothers about five minutes into the game, when the wealthy patron is found murdered. All of you have secrets to hide, so it's up to you to figure out who killed her and why, before the coppers start digging into _everyone's_ secrets.

Set in Shadow Earth, in the 1920s.

While the base setting is taken from a slapstick movie, you do not have to be familiar with the movie, and the game itself is not slapstick so you may play a serious character if you wish. Despite mixing the name with a familiar mystery novel, I do not expect to use the novel's motives for characters in this game.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
We'll be using the paragraph system, in which you tell me a paragraph (or more, if you wish) about your character. You must have at least one secret that would ruin you if it were publicly revealed, and you should have reason to dislike Henrietta Potter, the hotel's wealthy guest. Your secret may involve Mrs. Potter and/or her daughter Polly, but it doesn't have to. Plot will be written around the characters, so please get your character concept to me as soon as possible.

ShadowWorld Mainline Thursday Night

Edwin Voskamp
Slot 1 - Thu 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR 1 TO 8 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

ShadowWorld is a diceless roleplaying game based in our world, except that, under the facade of media, politics, political correctnes and 'reality' there is a ShadowWorld where strange things happen: psionic powers, ancient secrets, dark conspiracies that are hidden from or dismissed by the general public. The players are psionically gifted operators of a secret organization sent on a mission. Though an ongoing world setting, it is an episodic campaign: new players are welcome.

The real world in the current day, with a few changes (e.g. Quebec, Ontario the provinces east of it became a country and, with Cuba, Ecuador and Vanuatu, formed a Commonwealth). To the public there is more terrorist acts, more military action, and, recently, more weird events (e.g. Jupiter ignited into a star, astronomers claim we skipped ahead a day in Earth's orbit, Scotland got covered in ancient forests and physically became larger, the Ark of the Covenant was found).

CONTENT WARNING: ShadowWorld involves many adult themes, in particular, if you take (your) religion seriously, playing ShadowWorld likely is not for you.

Game will run late: I expect, and will work hard to, end at 1am.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
If you don't have an existing character that you will play again, contact the GM by email (gm@shadowworld.org) with at least a vague idea for an outline of a concept. You can play any character with regards to background, skills, etcetera, as long as your background makes you suitable to be recruited by a US-based organization. Your character will have one or more psionic powers, have some mystical nature, or both.

Be Not Afraid Of Greatness

Sol Foster
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
FULL

The shadowy Vesuvius Corporation has been rumored to wield remarkable power on the global stage. Now they've taken an interest in demigods like you...

This game will use the Razor-Edge of Fate v2 system created by Kit Kindred and John Lees.

"My child, know this: though you are the offspring of a god of Olympus, you are not one of them. That as long as you live you will stride across two worlds, but not truly be welcome in either. Both men and gods will want to use you to their advantage. And because you are greater than mortal men, your better nature must rise to meet the challenges that are set before you, for in your heart of hearts you are a hero. As a hero, a demigod, you will be stalked by monsters, demons and lesser gods who will hate you for the sake of your mere existence. The artifacts of the modern world will not make fighting them any easier than if you limited yourself to the weapons used by the ancient Greeks. Know that when the worlds of men and the halls of the gods are threatened, it will fall to you to undertake the task for such is your life, your purpose, and the geas that the Fates have set upon you at birth." (Text by Kindred & Lees.)

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters are 21st Century demigods, unbeknownst to most of the mortals they share the Earth with. Characters to be created before the convention. The rule system is Kindred & Lees' Razor-Edge of Fate v2. Characters from their game are acceptable, but events that happen in this game may not be considered canonical in future Razor-Edge of Fate games. Everyone else needs to create a character before the game. I will contact people with rules and further information once scheduling is done.

Blood: the Shadowing: Agents of B.L.O.O.D.

Matt Andrews
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 3 TO 6 PLAYERS

For centuries, the Blood have warred on Earth, hidden from the world at large. Long-lived and possessed of powers beyond those of normal men, their origin shrouded in mystery, the Blood battled in secret. All that changed when The Adversary came, seeking to draw the world under the shadow of his rule. Can the Blood set aside their differences to fight back and save their world? Blood: The Shadowing is a loose, episodic series - you don't need to have played in a previous game to join in.

The Adversary has come for us in our homes. He's come after our friends, our families, destroying the shadow world that kept us safe. This year, we fight back!

Blood: the Shadowing is set in the world of Blood Shadow. It is an Amber game, but the players are unlikely to see Amber, and have no knowledge of the place. The Blood are the distant descendants of one or more Amberites who spent time in the Shadow a long time ago. Think World of Darkness, The Highlander TV show or The Matrix for a general feel - a modern world where people somehow manage to conceal large weapons under their trenchcoats. For more info, see here

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters are built using the Amber DRPG system using 115 points if sent in before the con (Contact Matt Andrews (curgoth@memento-mori.ca), or 105 points if built at the con. Infinite Amber: Strange Roads

J.P. Brannan
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 2 TO 6 PLAYERS

Amber: eternal; the city without an end. After the adventures of Corwin and Merlin, it is no longer believed to be the center of the universe. Instead it is one pole of reality. War and rivalries have reshaped the universe. Kings Random and Merlin sit on the thrones of Amber and Chaos. Random will call upon all the resources at his disposal to preserve and reassert Amber's primacy. Those resources include you, his nieces and nephews, the latest generation of Amber's growing royal family. Together you'll face a threat unlike many Amber has faced before. And if at all possible, don't let King Merlin know anything is going on. He'd only make it weirder.

NOTE: Though technically an 'ongoing series' this is highly episodic and new players will NOT be at a disadvantage.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters will be King Random's nieces and nephews. An alternative rule set will be used for "Infinite Amber", which will be circulated online. The GM will contact players to help with character generation prior to the convention. Onto the Black Road (character creation)

Simone Cooper
Slot 2 - Fri 9am-1pm - 4 hours
FULL

You knew nothing of the Black Road. Amber and Chaos were just fiction to you, and war was a purely human evil that waxed and waned with the tides of history.

That was before Flora's barriers eroded away, and the darkness that waited outside Earth's understanding boiled through. In the first waves of insanity and violence, memory of human war was wiped away. More than half of the world's population was destroyed before any resistance could be organized. A few pockets remain untouched... a reminder that there's still something worth saving.

You are among the few extraordinary men and women who might make a difference. You are a survivor.

It's 2014. Welcome to Hell.

Onto the Black Road will include a character creation session (slot 2, starting late) and a first encounter session (slot 3). You must sign up for both sessions.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
We will do character creation together in Slot 2, developing Earth-human characters who survived the horrors of the Black Road. We will use drives and archetypes derived from various interpretations of the Sephirot as part of the creation and development process :-)

Give us pregen characters, or ask us to write a novelette before the Con. We’ll even (gasp!) bring our dice if you tell us to. We're a great gateway group for someone with first-time GM jitters, or a veteran GM wanting to try something outside their typical zone.

Simone Cooper
Slot 3 - Fri 2pm-6:30pm - 4 1/2 hours
FULL

This is the continuation of the game begun in Slot 2. You must sign up for both sessions.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
We will have done character creation together in Slot 2.

As Grindelwald prepares final moves against the Ministry, the Aurors conceive a desperate plan. A group of dangerous prisoners will be released from Azkaban to operate behind enemy lines on a suicide mission to alter the course of the war.

Now this group of dark wizards, murderers, thieves, werewolves, and worse, along with the Aurors who imprisoned them, must work together before the Wizarding War is lost and Grindelwald conquers muggle and wizard alike.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Email Kit if you have questions. Pregenerated characters will be provided. Some minor knowledge of the Harry Potter universe would be helpful, but not essential as this game takes place roughly 50 years before the events of those books/films. WW2 knowledge is likewise not critical as the game focuses on the secret Wizarding War occurring in the shadows. Likely to not be as dark as ShadowWorld WW2, but likely to have more Harry Potter content :) Character fatalities [or worse] highly likely Game may run late, likely past the witching hour.

Today the world changed. Familiar places and people have disappeared, only to be replaced by things unknown to you. Perfect strangers claim to know you, or even say they are your brother or sister. If you are to make sense of the new reality, you must use all your skill and power to learn whom you can trust -- and whom to beware.

In honor of thirty years of Amber gaming, this is a classic crossover scenario, as described in the original rules by Erick Wujcik. Bring your own favorite Amber character from your own favorite campaign. All of your character's previous history, attributes, powers, and artifacts will cross over into this scenario.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Players need to send descriptions of their character, including personal history and background, to the GM prior to the con. Information about any campaign setting where the character was previously used would also be helpful.

ShadowWorld Mainline Friday Night

Edwin Voskamp
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
FULL

The Directive: The Borboleta

Kris Kunkel
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
SPACE FOR 3 TO 8 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

A department under the Franco-Argent Ministry of Shadow Affairs in Corwin's Franco-Argent Empire, The Directive's stated mission is, "To serve and protect the Empire from the illegal use and trafficking of illicit technologies within Franco-Argent and the partner nations of the Argent Court."

What The Directive does? Well, that's only known to their operatives. Earlier this month the Orleans branch discovered some odd items being shipped by a spice merchant through Orleans, they traced the shipments back through Tours and as far as La Rochelle. The Minister is encouraging further investigation, so as to be able to better report to the Emperor when he returns from his Eastern Progress.

Knowledge of last year's game is not necessary, but returning players are welcome to revisit their characters visiting the city of Tours.

The Directive /is/ set in the same universe as The Crimson Guard campaign, but knowledge of the one will have little impact on playing in the other and is not suggested nor discouraged by the GM. Imagine that Corwin drew a pattern and has drawn together his own Argent Court, much like the Golden Circle. He has found a need for an agency to keep the 17th C. French countryside well grounded in 17th C. technology, despite the influx of people and ideas during the Founding of Argent and immigration from the local allied Shadows.

Pre-generated characters will be provided.

The Fairy Circle

Lorraine (Rain) Donaldson
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
DOES NOT RUN

"The country was called Lorraine and so was she."

"I am told it began as a tiny ring of toadstools, far to the west. A child was found dead in its center, and the man who found her-her father-died of convulsions several days later. The spot was immediately said to be accursed."

"I used a spell to get my first man," she said, "and look what he turned out to be. If I hadn't, I'd have been a lot better off. I wanted a pretty daughter, and I made that happen-"
She stopped abruptly and I realized she was crying.
"She was the little girl in the Fairy Circle. I thought you knew..."

"The grasses darkened and shone like metal within it, but did not die. The trees twisted and their leaves blackened. They swayed when there was no wind, and bats danced and darted among them. In the twilight, strange shapes could be seen moving-always within the circle, mind you-and there were lights, as of small fires throughout the night."

Your village faces a terrible threat, how will you respond?

Though Much is Taken, Much Abides

J.P. Brannan
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 4 TO 9 PLAYERS

Amber is made weak by time and fate, but is still strong in will.

Twenty years ago a new King, Random, returned victorious from the Patternfall War fought in the Courts of Chaos. The Epoch of Oberon had ended, and Eric's attempt to ignite a new age of glory had already died in ashes when it had scarcely begun. The King found he had inherited a kingdom cut off from its trading partners, depleted by war, and only kept afloat in the intervening years by the heroic efforts of Prince Regent Gerard. Random marshaled his family, declaring that some work of noble note may yet be done, not unbecoming men that strove with Gods. Slowly, Amber began to regain itself and chart its destiny anew.

Now you are younger members of the royal family in service to the throne, working not only to preserve and defend Amber, but to create the Amber of the future. Diplomats, soldiers, traders, courtiers, and provocateurs, you must be proud, bold, pleasant, resolute, and now and then stab, as occasion serves.

James Arnoldi
Slot 4 - Fri 8pm-12am - 4 hours
FULL

Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow. It normally takes thousands and thousands of years, but every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward. Since the invention of the atom bomb, a new breed of humanity has begun to appear.

After the revelation of the existence of Homo Superior, some of humanity have openly welcomed the existence of the mutants, but far more eye them with mistrust and fear. Can Charles Xavier and his followers gain the trust of humanity and shepherd in a new era for humanity or is war inevitable?

This game is set in a reboot-like universe based on and inspired by the X-Men comics and movies, but requiring no previous knowledge of the setting to enjoy.

Players will create characters by email before the con using the Meta-X system (creation of the GM). Players can create their own version of an existing X-Men character or a brand new mutant character. Pregenerated characters will also be available at the con but will be built on less points.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game

Pattern Fall: An incident within the lands of Amber which had a profound and lasting effect upon the entire Verse. A renegade son, possessed of, and by, powers the likes of which had never been seen, made a stab at rewriting the artifact of implicate Order known as the Pattern, while his siblings squabbled and scurried about the throne seeking after temporal power.

During the 18.5 minute gap when there was no sign of Order active within the Verse, many ancient powers fell, and countless worlds died. A storm raged through the Verse which uprooted even the mightiest of beings within their own spheres of power, and since the time of their demise their like has not been seen again.

Until now, perhaps.

Three weeks ago, a member of Red Dome's elite Sci-Corps think tank known as the Blue Group absconded with red-coded tech and objects cached under the classification "Black Science". The technomage Kepler's whereabouts remained unknown until one week ago when his t-com beacon went active somewhere on the edge of the Zero Zone; a region of the Web containing worlds not yet cataloged by a Red Dome survey team.

An elite soft acquisition team was deployed, along with two seasoned ops agents, to gather data on the world code named: Neo Kaleva, and search for Kepler.

Approximately 24 hours ago, that team went dark, but not before transmitting an interesting message detailing an encounter with beings which were neither Qwarim, Black Dagger, Fae, Amberites, Magnified, nor denizens of Thelbane.

Now an ops team has been gathered for insertion into Neo Kaleva Finland to carry on the investigation into Kepler and locate the missing team as well. The transhuman society of the grand city which gives the world its code name will provide an interesting target for the ops agents, and their handler has suggested each agent visit the body modification department of Med Plex to facilitate the creation of an authentic legend for the mission.

Amber in Twilight

Michael Kucharski
Slot 5 - Sat 10am-5pm - 7 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 4 TO 8 PLAYERS

The Amber that exists today bears no resemblance to the stories told by the Oberon’s sons or daughters. Nor does it resemble the images that are held in the hearts of Oberon’s grandchildren. Combat between Reynard and Rowena for Amber, destroyed it. Afterward many sacrificed much, in some cases all, to rebuild and restore Amber.
Today Cromcalen has ruled for as long as all previous kings and single queen(Oberon, Eric, Random, Reynard, Fiona, and Everwhite) Amber put together.
Today, instead of an importer and transporter of goods, Amber today feeds the Golden Circle and beyond; a semi-circle of train rails carry large solar powered stream engines from Amber out into Shadow and back. At the edge of its northern border and looming above Amber is the Kingdom of Arden, and within Amber’s border is the City-State of Rebma.
Today, Amber looks like the Valley of Kings reclaimed from the desert, its plateaus converted into finely carved out residences and businesses surrounded by homes, businesses, parks, garden, and public works upon what was once a sea bed.
Today, the royal family numbers in the hundreds, perhaps even a thousand.
Today, the Pattern of Amber resides in an amphitheatre atop one of those plateaus, and it bestows no powers aside from confirming that one is of the blood. Likewise, although still cool to the touch the royal trumps are no more than very fancy calling cards that no member of royal society would be without.
Merlin, son of Corwin and Dara, the creator of the new Jewel of Judgment, and the restorer of the Pattern of Amber has not been seen since in a millennium. Still at court (and alive) are Florimel, Gerard, Fiona, Bleys, Deirdre, and Benedict; those not seen in centuries include Gideon, firstborn of Oberon; Rowena or her daughters; Margaret; or Corwin.
Players are welcome to bring their favorite Player Characters; the character will be modified to fit the perimeters of the campaign. Or create new characters for a new world.

And All Our Yesterdays Have Lighted Fools, Part 12

Rae H. Williams
Slot 5 - Sat 10am-5pm - 7 hours
SPACE FOR 1 TO 8 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

Although this isn’t an ongoing campaign, there is a continuity to the stories. Each year is based on a different Shakespeare play, don’t worry I don’t use the language and you don’t have to be familiar with all the plays to have fun.

First year, the players freed Eric and imprisoned Corwin. Fiona killed Moire and someone returned the Eye of Serpent/Jewel of Judgment to Chaos. Second year, the players spent time in a maze world, thanks to some caskets that were delivered to Amber. Third year, there were a bunch of duplicate Elders running around. Fourth year, the group helped to unite a pair of lovers from Rebma and Chaos (Martin and a Hellmaiden) who seemed ill-fated prior to their intervention. Fifth year, the players went to Thailand on vacation and built a large sand castle, which became a very real castle and hotel (complete with elevator). They also helped defend the Arden, from an outlying area that led into the Arden, by beasts ala the Black Road, led by a Chaosian who didn’t know the war was over (it is a big universe after all). They learned of Julian's on again/off again romance with a lady from the area, Rosalind. Sixth Year, Another attack by a Chaosian, this time Jack found out who his mother and father were (Osric). She threatened to take Amber if her son wasn’t put on the throne. Jack swore allegiance to Amber, Eric became the king again, and the other side was defeated. Seventh Year, Kerribad went hunting with Julian, the Pattern and Logrus appeared on tiles at Edmund’s zoo. The Triplets were sent on duty on board the 3 Gérard’s ships, which were attacked by pirates. Various people saw ghost who had warnings for the future, including a group on Tir-na Nog’th. Eighth Year, Somehow, all the characters ended up in an ancient version of Chaos, prior to Amber’s existence. Aurelia’s mother was younger and didn’t recognize her. They met baby Mandor’s mother Jocelyn and her sister Peller, and a few people joined a much younger Dworkin in battle and some sailed the seas with Edmund. When they finally were able to remove the spell from Dworkin, he returned to be with Peller, who he was in love with. Shortly after that, they returned to the “normal” universe. Ninth Year: Corwin's face began appearing in the most unlikely places: cards, books, etc. Some of them encountered a young boy, who turned out to be a kitchen worker's son, by Corwin. When players contacted him, he was in a hotel room in Shadow, unwashed and drunk. He couldn't understand why none of his Trumps worked, or why he couldn't move through Shadow and find his way to Amber. When asked what he remembered last, he said it was the attack on Castle Amber with Bleys. With a little help from Merlin, Gérard, Llewella, Mandor and Llewella, they found out that Moire had found a way to put a ty'iga in Corwin's body. In this way, she controlled the events that eventually led to Random (the then King of Amber) being killed. Once exonerated, and with the help of a few other Elders, Corwin returned to Amber, and was told to marry Jenny, who he proposed to. Tenth Year: A masked ball to celebrate Corwin and Jenny’s engagement turned sour when a cleric from the Church of the Unicorn accused Jenny of being a high priestess in the Church of the Serpent, and would not allow the marriage to take place in Amber’s main church. When asked for proof, the cleric produced a document from Amber’s spies in Chaos which confirmed her standing. Swayvill was accused of sending a spy to the Court of Amber, though the Chaosian had no idea who she was. Yyvrael and Aurelia went to Chaos and found the Serpent had replaced Bances as head of the Church and was planning an attack against Amber. It opened a Trump portal through Jenny’s body, which exploded opening the gate. Many Amberites were brought to the Church and aided by some Chaosians and the Unicorn, attacked and contained the Serpent. Aurelia removed its only eye and Yyvrael sent it to the edge of the Pit. The Eye was given to Swayvill and the Amberites returned home. Eleventh Year: The players found that the guards at Castle Amber were missing, along with all the other inhabitants of Amber, except the younger generation. When the Yyvrael threw pebbles on the Pattern, Edmond stayed to guard it, and Steed and the Chaosian went to the Primal Pattern, which wasn’t lit and was about half the size. Their Trumps of the older generation were warm and ineffective. Snow, odd night hours, and a gray mist that seemed to destroy things thrown into it. Checking the Rebma Pattern showed a quarter of the reverse Pattern. When the Pattern Masters put their minds to it, they were able to create and walk a full Pattern in their minds and return to the real Amber. After hearing some odd music which was recognized as the music of creation, they finally tracked down the source of the trouble. Harmony, who will be taking over for GhostWheel in running the universe, was running a beta program in a pocket universe.

Each part of this series is based on a different Shakespeare play. You don’t have to be an aficianado to enjoy the game. Part 1 was based on "MacBeth." Part 2 was "The Merchant of Venice." Part 3 was "The Comedy of Errors." Part 4 was "Romeo And Juliet." Part 5 was "As You Like It." Part 6 was “King John.” Part 7 was “Henry VI, Part 2.” Part 8 was “All’s Well That Ends Well.” Part 9 was "Measure For Measure." Part 10 was “Henry VIII.” Part 11 was “The Tempest.” Part 12 is based on another Shakespeare play, but you'll have to guess which.

The World is a strange place, filled with incredible wonders, ancient mysteries, and unimaginable horrors...They surround us...guide us...inspire us...devour us. However most people are unaware of the extraordinary world around them...they embrace the mundane, the rational, the safe. They cannot, or will not, see the Divine that is right in front of them. And the Diabolical terrors, that continually swirl around them ,only seep in through the rants of the Cable News anchors. Yet you are different...you have seen the World for what it is, and it has left it’s mark on you...be it an enlightening of your mind...a curse upon your soul...or just the strength to stand alone against the Darkness. But you are not alone, there are others ‘like’ you and together perhaps you protect humanity and can keep the World the strange place that it is.

Set in the world of Supervillainy!

"There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it."

Players make a determined agent in the FPB. In the USA and in particular NYC, Superpowers are registered or illegal like handguns. Players are unpowered federal law officers in a world where the bad guys can throw a car at you. The FPB operates like a J. E. Hoover version of the FBI, more than a little like cowboys. The populace is scared. Federal judges need to live under constant protection or in secrecy. Except for registered super-heroes, the FBP is all that stands in the way of anarchy in the US.

Slot 5 - Sat 10am-5pm - 7 hours
DOES NOT RUN

Every summer, the conclave and the Solstice Bizarre descent upon a single city within the golden realms. By day, merchants, performers and the fashionable wealthy roam the elaborate, ephemeral stalls, looking to sell or buy. By night, market ground erupts into celebration exceeded only by the Grand Revel of the winter festival.

Woven into this tapestry, an elite few gather at the conclave to chart the future of the realms, resolve disputes, negotiate alliances and forge new relationships.

At the center of both conclave and Solstice Bizarre are the Marked. Gifted with a spark of ancient magic, they are stronger, faster, more insightful than their peers, and much sought after as lovers, warriors and leaders. In equal portion they are feared; while the Church of Horn claims that the blood of the gods of Kolvirspire runs in their veins, the dissident Cult of Chaos asserts that they are a corruption best destroyed, for they will ever seek to wield power over their lessers.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
The game is set in the Golden Circle, a thousand years after the invading Chaosian forces destroyed Amber and sparked a volcanic eruption of Kolvir. Characters will be newly appointed delegates to the conclave, each from a different golden realm, each with different political agendas and concerns of the heart. The GM will provide additional background and system details prior to the con. Players are expected to create characters and select a golden realm prior to the con.

Target AMBER V2

Edwin Voskamp
Slot 5 - Sat 10am-5pm - 7 hours
SPACE FOR 3 TO 8 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

This time, this place (well, sorta, there were a few minor changes). You are elite soldiers from militaries around the world, and attached specialist and even civilians, in a black ops program dealing with invasion of Earth by non-humans, the TARGETS. The Colonels' Council running the program generates missions ranging from reconnaissance of parallel worlds reachable through the tunnel system, to support and expansion of off-world bases and even a proto-colony, in case Earth falls.

This is current day Earth, sort of. This is Amber, sort of. Target:AMBER grew out of Patrick Brady at AmberCon UK running a one-shot (which became a 9 year campaign that ended half a decade ago) musing on the casual strength and resilience of Amberites described in the first books, and consider what the whole package would be, in speed, reaction speed, senses. Consider dogs that can run down a Mercedes and tear pieces off of it, and think what it would mean to face a pack of those, as a mere mortal, with Earth arms and armor. Consider how many Amberites have visited Earth over the years, and how they play games. This starts on Earth as we know it, but a bit different. The multiverse after the first five books, and then some.

This is Target:AMBER V2. It is not a spin-off, not a reboot, this is a continuation of Target: AMBER, as run by Patrick Brady at AmberCon UK, and the spinoff set in the same universe run by Tim Hart at Ambercon NorthWest. What more can I tell you?

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Contact Edwin Voskamp at ambercon.com@voskamp.org. Characters are created using the Amber Diceless Role-play system, but based on 10 points rather than the 100 points of normal ‘Amber’ characters (though attributes are Human = 0, Chaos = 5, Amber = 10). Points can be spent on Attributes, Stuff, Background, and Items.

The Pendrad: Shining Liquid Universe, Discovery!

R.F. McCaughey
Slot 5 - Sat 10am-5pm - 7 hours
SPACE FOR 3 TO 7 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

In Pretty Amber, there sits a King of All Order. In Dark Chaos, there hovers a Queen on the Edge of the Tree of Matter. Amber and Chaos have vexed us since before the Nameless spit out the Logrus. Terrible immortals, they parcel the universe and squabble over mysteries. Pendrad is found. Lords of Shadow and Gossamer have uncovered that which was so Long Lost we nearly forgot it ourselves. Once the Glorious Pendrad was the weapon the UnderGods feared. Too long the universe has forgotten who built the Pendrad. We call you of all Bloods together, for a Memory returned. We call you to Dance. Young Immortals are pretty, but not the prettiest or most wicked. For they are not Fae. Come dance the Escalara....

...and perhaps we shall have Children to join us!

Play the Immortals who existed before the Universe had Shadows. Play the Fae. They are incredibly ancient. They have mad skillz. They breathe Magic. They are nearly extinct... but maybe that can change!

please read 'Lords of Gossamer and Shadow' by Jason Durall. Your PCs will be tasked by the Great Khans of the Fae... you may pick your own Khan (returning players have first choice), based on character design OR contact with the GM by email. The web page to get flavor background of Pendrad series is found: http://home.comcast.net/~arrefmak/theeternalcity/before.html

PCs must be Fae built for 80 pts. Characters submitted to GM prior to convention can be built for 100 pts. Note rule change this game: special task of ENDURANCE is all of your magic, as PCs are literally held together by magic. Players encouraged to make early contact with GM. All players get Mastery of the Grand Stair at no cost, please ask questions regards Fae design, etc.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Players encouraged to make early contact with GM: arrefmak@gmail.com. Create characters before the con to have more points. Please use the rule set 'Lords of Gossamer and Shadows' instead of the Amber DRPG.

47 (this is NOT Erick Wujcik's 47)

David Blackwell
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 1 TO 6 PLAYERS

You all know the setting, the world is our own. It is the summer of 2014 in the northern hemisphere. No strange events, supernatural disruptions, or alien invasions are in progress. People from all over the world are living their mundane, humdrum lives, while a few live more exciting ones, either by choice or force of circumstance.

People are people, and people have secrets, talents, and unexpected layers to surprise each other, or even themselves. You may not believe you are any different, but you are. And you are about to be thrown together on an adventure that is bound to have some real surprises.

Warning: This is an experimental system and an experimental setting.

Disclaimer: To the best of my knowledge this setting has nothing to do with Erick Wujick’s 47 rpg project. I was trying to work out a name for this session, and suddenly realized that the perfect choice was 47. A few minutes later, I remembered Erick’s project, then I double checked the number and verified that it was in fact the same. I have no idea what he was working on, or why he liked the name 47. I only know why I like it and why I chose it.

Character creation will take place before the convention, and characters will be built on 50 points. All characters will be between 18 and 30 years of age. You are probably orphaned or adopted, If you are over 18 your biological parents are dead, if you are 18, you might have been raised by a single mother, who may or may not have married since. Beyond that your background is open and you can write up anything you like.

There are five attributes; Strength, Endurance, Prowess, Affinity, and Intention. The two familiar ones are much the same as in the ADRPG rules. Of the remaining; Prowess is the attribute of combat and athletic endeavors that require more agility than power; Affinity is the attribute of empathy and understanding the motivations of others, both people and animals; and Intention is the attribute of will, focus and mental pursuits.

There is one other catch: Points come in three different colors; red, black, and gold.

You have 46 red points; these may be spent on attributes or saved for future use. You may reserve up to half of these points for future use, but you are not required to reserve any of them. This isn’t good stuff or bad stuff, reserved points are just reserved.

You have three black points, these may be spent on education or training. A single point is good for broad and deep experience focused on a particular area of human endeavor. For one point you can be a doctor, a lawyer, a sculptor, a novelist, a soldier, or a pilot and you will be very good at it. You cannot stack these points, but you can put them in similar and complementary skills. You can also reserve any or all of them.

Finally, you have one gold point. You can spend your gold point on anything. If you use it on an attribute you are world class in that attribute. Think of it as buying up to Chaos level. If you spend it for an additional area of training you are one of the best in the world, with an intuition that makes you the envy of others in your field. If you stack it with a black point, then you are a world recognized authority in your field. You can hold your gold point in reserve or, if you like, you can spend it on something stranger. (GM approval required)

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Build your 50 point character as described above. Include a name, brief personal history and summary of life experience. Good info about your character means I will be more likely to find something in your background to work with rather than making something up and adding it.

Agents of Blackmoor: Assignment Iron Ring

Christopher Midyette, Kat Lemmer
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours
FULL

Faith. It can be fragile enough to be shaken by words alone, or strong enough to withstand the test of hammer and anvil. If the will is brittle, it will shatter, but if the will is like iron, faith can deform and change shape to accommodate any challenge while retaining integrity and essence.

Most of the current crop of agents were recruited by Bertram Rand, and it was he they placed their main faith in. His grand, and sometimes grandiose, vision of Red Dome's mission, and his approach to recruitment, protocol, and secrecy were often eccentric, but his integrity and conviction were never in doubt...

Until New Pangea and the revelation that he was the architect of Pattern Fall, formerly known as Prince Brand. Until his ouster from the position of Chief Director of Red Dome Operations and Head of Sci-Corps. Until he was branded renegade by King Drake himself.

Now the family of Blackmoor, whom the agents serve, slips farther beyond the pale, some fighting one another within the newly formed Iron Ring of worlds about Blackmoor herself, some driven to madness by the debilitating effects of the failed power known as Draconoth, and some m.i.a. for many years. All of the agents make their homes within the Web and Hive worlds within Blackmoor's auspice, and many of them have found strong ties to the other Magnified agents they have served with, but who are they to place their faith in now?

Is the grand dream of Red Dome, to help newly empowered Magnified find their place in the Verse, to investigate strange new phenomena within the leyscape of the Tellurian, and to help those who have suffered at the hands of the Qwarim and worse enemies find sanctuary and healing, at an end? The expanded powers of Hive operatives and the seeming re-designation of Red Dome as a military outpost would seem to indicate that, at the very least, things will never be the same.

There are many who believe the Magnified must place faith in the unity of their common origins, thus carving out a separate identity from Blackmoor herself. Yet there are others who feel that Blackmoor can be saved, and that jumping ship now would amount to turning one's back on any chance of survival.

A proactive approach would seem to be in order, for the worlds will keep moving while men sit in committees, and the Agents of Red Dome are rarily idle. When a request for aid comes from an unlikely sector, the agents will have an opportunity to test themselves against the challenges facing Blackmoor herself, in an assignment to the Iron Ring.

James Arnoldi
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours

Pregens Provided.

Slaying the dragon was easier than expected. Your new companion is tougher than he looks. He also didn't join you for the gold. He wants to hire you for a dangerous expedition in to the heart of his homeland. He claims to be a prince of the far-off kingdom of Amber. His tyrant brother usurped the throne from him and terrorizes the kingdom. He uses his necromantic magics to raise the dead in an army that may someday threaten the Realms.

Deep in the dungeons of Amber is a font of power called the Pattern that rivals the Pool of Radiance. It is well-guarded from any assault through the castle, but Prince Eric knows a way to reach it through the Underdeep and if he can reach it, he can use its power to set his people free from the tyrant: Corwin of Amber.

Lost in Amber

Anne Delekta
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours
FULL

You are a group of gamers at Ambercon US. Imagine your surprise when you discover a portal in your hotel room - a portal that leads to a library where a man dressed in black and silver is shuffling through a deck of cards.

Inspired by the TV series Lost in Austen, players will play idealized versions of themselves who land in Castle Amber near the beginning of Nine Princes in Amber. Can you help the plot of the novel progress as it should? Will your very presence there cause change? Are you wily enough to even survive in Amber?

A familiarity of the plot of Lost in Austen is helpful, and a deep love of/familiarity with the Chronicles of Amber (especially Nine Princes of Amber) is strongly suggested. Hilarity is encouraged.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Do not expect an actual portal to Amber.

Shadowworld: Crime Leagues

Robert Haight
Slot 6 - Sat 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR 3 TO 8 Returning Players given preference, New Players welcome

This serial campaign is set on Earth in the 1950s, an alternate timeline where psionics exist and most psionics for various reasons turn to a life of crime. Characters are drawn into a newly established criminal syndicate to use their wits, cunning, powers and brute force in the transformational years where old world orders are crumbling with money and power to be had in plenty for those who can take it. Note: This game has the potential to turn historic and religious events upside-down. Players who have difficulty separating their personal cultural or religious beliefs from those of their characters may find elements of this game disturbing and may wish to look elsewhere.

Psionic ability is not a heritage of the privileged unless they have gone off to war or suffered terrible misfortune. It is much more common among the poorest classes struggling for survival. However psionic abilities remain largely unknown to the general population. Science pokes and prods at the concepts of psionics, but because few people come forward claiming psionic ability and because scientists have been unable to bring people to the breaking points where psionic abilities emerge. Psionics are often drawn into the underworld because they have grown up on the street and their abilities give them a chance at a step up in life, they are combat veterans looking to stay in the profession or variously find that what they seek in life is not to be found in more reputable occupations and lifestyles

ShadowWorld Mainline Sunday Day

Edwin Voskamp
Slot 7 - Sun 11am-5pm - 6 hours
FULL

Game will run late: I hope, and will work hard to, end by 5pm. It may run as late as 6pm. I hope to end the Mainline games at ACUS big.

Artful Design

David Blackwell
Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 3 TO 7 PLAYERS

In the days before, the great King Oberon came to the slopes of Kolvir. It was by his hand and his will that the shining city rose. He forged alliances of blood and fealty, and sent his scions forth to gather unto the Eternal City, a Golden Circle, expanding its implacable influence until none might stand against him. If Amber is the one true realm, then surely fate would permit no other course, but perhaps his ambition was assured not by destiny, but by Oberon’s artful design.

Players will portray the children of Oberon in an early Amber, before the foundations of the castle were laid, before the caverns under Kolvir were worked, before the great docks were built, and the roads and terraces and shops of the city… is Amber fated for greatness, your decisions may make all the difference.

This is intended to be an ongoing campaign. Hopefully there is enough interest for a serious game on Sunday night. Anyone with an interest in co-GMing, and portraying Oberon, Dworkin or Oberon's wife should contact David Blackwell at mindwright@aol.com

This is an Alternate Amber in the sense that players will create characters who are children of Oberon and have grown up in the early years of Amber. It is not precisely a play the elders game though if successful it may become one in the fullness of the campaign. It is a game where player choices are likely to profoundly affect the direction of the story.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Character creation will take place during the session, and will be handled with a modified attribute auction. This is not a throne war, though the process may imply a little sibling rivalry. Bring an open mind and a ready wit.

Players are the familiars of witches and wizards at Hogwarts School of Magic.

It's not necessary to be familiar with the Harry Potter series, though it will help if you're vaguely aware that some books were written about a boy at a magic school. It's not necessary to be familiar with the Pirates of the Caribbean series at all, and it may be better not to be because mostly they're used as things to provide puns and bad jokes. New players are welcome.

The GM likes her sleep, and will move heaven and earth to end on time or early.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Character creation is simple: pick a species. Pick something you're good at. Pick something you're bad at. Congratulations, you're done. (You will find the game much easier and more fun if your chosen species has some form of locomotion, and the GM will find a way to severely handicap any wildly over-powered characters.) Contact alrobins@gmail.com with characters. Or don't, and just have an idea of what you want to play when you show up.

DOES NOT RUN

One day each year, eager hopefuls travel from across the Universe to attempt to win a coveted spot on the team. Will you become the newest legionaire or at least recieve a flight ring as a consolation prize?

(Knowledge of Legion of Superheroes not required. They're a team of (mostly) young adult super heroes in the future. That's all you really need to know.)

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Come up with your character's name, power, and description by the start of the slot. Contacting the GM with this information before the slot is encouraged, but not required. No Daxamites or Kryptonians allowed. Players who show up without a concept will be assigned one made up on the spot by the GM that will probably not be very effective.

Lords of Gossamer and Shadow: The Slug and the Harp

Judd M. Goswick
Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
SPACE FOR ANY 2 TO 6 PLAYERS

Nestled in a world not far from the Agora is the watering hole called The Slug. Its a tavern that caters to those strange beings who come so deftly out of the haunted grainery door without so much as an explanation. It is said that, if you need to be there, you will be. It is also said that those that make a toast in earnest need will find aid from the regulars.

On a typical night in the dark months of Autumn, The Slug starts making preparation for the Multi-versal Chardwal Championships. The card decks are shuffled, the chips metered out, the wards sealed, and a generally happy mood adds itself to the smoke and brew.

Into this spectacle comes a forlorn lady with a strange tale and only a magical harp to prove the truth of it.

Raise a toast and Step Lively, Warden!

(This is a one-shot game for people new to Lords of Gossamer and Shadow.)

I didn't believe her. Sure she seemed like a classy dame, with polished scales and nice long fins, but you work in the Undertow a while and you learn. Anybody who walks around this neighborhood looking that fancy has a few bones hidden somewhere. Yeah, she was hiding something but I believed her money. When the customer is willing to shell out that many clams, you know better than to ask too many questions.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Players to contact the GM before con with their characters.

ShadowWorld WWII

Edwin Voskamp
Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours
FULL

ShadowWorld is a diceless roleplaying game based in our world in May 1942, playing operators of a branch of the Special Operations Executive, Room 33. They are sent out to interrupt the nonstandard research and development efforts the Third Reich is performing: black magic, psionic powers, ancient secrets, dark conspiracies that are hidden from or dismissed by the general public.

The players are operators of the SOE, with magical, psionic gifts or mutations, sent on mission into occupied Europe. It is a serial campaign: a series of missions that can be played independently in an ongoing world setting. You don't need to do any preparation or play more than once, but the more you put in, the more you get out of it. Note that this setting shares game mechanics, but no cosmology, history, or anything else with the 'Mainline' ShadowWorld campaign.

The setting is the real world in spring 1942 with some changes (all due to player character actions): the Bismarck wasn't sunk and is now hidden with her sister ship the Tirpitz, and the two battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in the Norwegian fjords, but more importantly, the leadership of Germany and Italy were massively changed:

  • In February, 1942 Hess and Himmler were killed.
  • In early April, 1942 Hitler, Von Ribbentropp, Mussolini, and Galeazzo Ciano were killed.
  • In late April, 1942 Heydrich took over as Führer and had Goering, Bormann, and Canaris killed.
  • On April 30, 1942 Heydrich and the assembled top of the SS were killed.

(Mis)guided by the advice of Aleister Crowley, consultant on mystical matters to the SOE, a team manipulated events to put Erwin Rommel in place as the new Führer.

CONTENT WARNING: ShadowWorld WWII involves many adult themes.

Game will run late: I expect, and will work hard to, end at 1am.

We will splurge remaining food vouchers, money and all to conduct the traditional chicken armageddon sometime mid game.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Contact the GM before the con with enough of a character concept (see below) to create a character from. If the kindly GM does not get a character concept by the weekend before the Con, you won't be able to play. You can play any character with a background, skills, et-cetera, that makes you suitable to be recruited by the SOE, an English organization (e.g. resistance, intelligence, military, et-cetera). You must be able to pass for a German in the more selective of its armed forces (e.g. blue-eyed, blond-haired, physically well), and not only speak German like a native, but have an understanding and appreciation for Germany and its culture (e.g. exchange student, German nanny, et-cetera). Your character will have one or more psionic powers or mutations. If you're familiar with the ShadowWorld system, these are looser and can be more mystically oriented, and you have 4 points (i.e. 8 orders less powerful than ShadowWorld Mainline characters).

Shattered Under Midnight

Slot 8 - Sun 7pm-12am - 5 hours

Let the red dawn surmise
What we shall do,
When this blue starlight dies
And all is through.
-- Cassilda's Song, "The King in Yellow" Act 1, Scene 2

One hundred years ago, the Champions of Faerie sacrificed much to win their way through the woods surrounding the Heart of the World. Fiona of Amber was rescued, Faerie was healed, and the dreaded Fell vanquished. Orpheus, the Prince of Dreams, became Faerie's new guardian, and he has served you well.

For one hundred years, there has been peace. There has been happily ever after.

But Faerie is changing. You feel it all around you. The Endless Starlight -- shards of Fiona's broken "pattern", the source of magic and continuity in the realms -- is disappearing, leaving parts of Faerie lost in darkness. You know it in the way your own story has altered, and not for the better.

The Queen's mind is broken, and General Benedicte is a most unwilling Regent. The Marquis of Argent, Brandwell, disappeared long ago, yet his ghost, or something like it swathed in yellow, roams the land. Where he goes, madness follows. Orpheus, Dream's son and Faerie's guardian, is missing … and the nightmares have begun.

You, the Champions of Faerie, are the realm's only hope. Can you save the realm before the magic is lost and all stories fall utterly into silence?

*This is the middle chapter of the Under Endless Starlight trilogy, and re-imagining of the game of the same title run at ACNW '08. If you played then, you're more than welcome to return, as the plot is completely different.

Both returning and new players are welcome.

What do players need to do to prepare for the game
Characters must be taken from a fairy or folk tale (any country of origin). Please no "gods" or other "all powerful" beings. These are archetypes (as most fairytale characters are), and flawed folk. -You get 1 Amber-level stat, 2 Chaos-level stats, and 1 Human stat. They're the usual: Psyche, Strength, Warfare, Endurance. - Based on your character's story of origin, pick two skills and two powers they might have. Returning characters get to add a new skill to the list, for a total of 3. - Pick one thing your character REALLY TRULY WANTS. This can come from the story, or from the back story you make for your character. Make it personal. - Choose one way in which YOUR STORY HAS TAKEN A TURN FOR THE WORST. A much darker turn. Run it all by me, and voila! Some Hasty Examples: Cinderella: Skills -- Disguise, Making Something from Nothing. Powers -- Talk to Animals, Song of Enchantment. Really Truly Wants to be an independent woman. Turn for the Worst -- Pushed her step-sister down the stairs. Puss In Boots: Skills -- Dashing Swordscat, Lands on Feet. Powers -- Extreme Jumping, Silver Tongue Trickery. Really Truly Wants to be human chevalier, not just a talking cat. Turn for the Worst -- Becomes human chevalier who cheerfully plays with his victims before murdering them.

So an embassy of Princes now visits Rebma, sent by King Random. Moire asks the Mirror Warriors to attend many of the diplomatic meetings with Prince Bleys and his brothers. ...she opened the mirrored brass lid to tap and mix the sand within, and an icy draft swirled around the inside of the craft until she closed the thing again. The draft had a sea scent to it, salty and sharp. "All mirrors lead to Rebma," she said, as though it were an axiom.
